DJ Dag

Frankfurt trance pioneer, Omen resident and a defining voice of the Sound of Frankfurt

DJ Dag, born Dag Lerner, began his DJ career in 1985 at Frankfurt's Music Hall. He first took over the legendary Monday sessions and developed a distinctive, driving style that quickly attracted a growing audience. Formative residencies at Dorian Gray and later Omen followed – clubs that are now firmly embedded in Frankfurt's electronic-music history.

As a resident and regular protagonist of the hr3 Clubnight, DJ Dag reached an audience far beyond the Rhine-Main region. His sets became known for percussive, hypnotic structures capable of creating a genuine trance state – an approach that still shapes his sound today.

Together with Jam El Mar he founded Dance 2 Trance. Their track “Power of American Natives” became an internationally recognised trance classic and a German Top Ten hit in the early 1990s. Releases such as “We Came in Peace” also belong to the formative recordings that helped define trance as a musical genre.

Beyond Dance 2 Trance, DJ Dag has been involved in projects including Peyote and The Flowmasterz, as well as numerous solo releases and collaborations. His career extends far beyond the classic club years of the 1990s.

His name remains closely connected with the Sound of Frankfurt, but DJ Dag is not a nostalgia act. He is still an active DJ who reads the room and builds each night around the dance floor. Trance, techno, progressive elements and classic electronic club music meet in sets focused on tension, energy and a shared experience.

At GM Warehouse 157, an important chapter of Frankfurt club history meets an industrial venue where new memories are still being created. The story is not simply preserved here – it continues with every set.
