Talla 2XLC
Frankfurt techno pioneer, Technoclub founder and international trance legend
Talla 2XLC is one of the defining figures of the German and international techno and trance scene. In the early 1980s, Frankfurt-born Andreas Tomalla began treating electronic music as a culture in its own right. While working in a Frankfurt record shop he used the term “Techno” early on as an umbrella description for electronically produced music.
In 1984 he founded Technoclub, which became one of the most influential event series in electronic club culture. The years at the legendary Dorian Gray at Frankfurt Airport made both Technoclub and Talla 2XLC known far beyond the Rhine-Main region and introduced numerous artists to an international audience.
As a DJ and producer, Talla 2XLC stands for an energetic sound between Trance, Progressive, Techno and Psytrance. Driving beats, large melodies and emotional tension form the basis of his sets. Alongside his classic Talla 2XLC sound, he explores Psytrance as Zyrus 7 and harder techno through RRAW!.
His career has taken him to renowned clubs and major festivals around the world, including Tomorrowland, Nature One, Parookaville, Dreamstate, Luminosity Beach Festival and EDC events, as well as clubs such as Ministry of Sound, Amnesia and Space.
Despite his long history, Talla 2XLC is not a nostalgia act. New productions, reworks and regular international appearances continue to develop his sound while keeping the same core idea: electronic music needs energy, a story and the ability to connect people on the dance floor.
